We did not make it easy for us, as it turned out last Tuesday during the joint rehearsal of Stageband Jazzorchestra and Treats. A lot of new music, many notes, we had to get used to so much news

We also rehearsed in concert setup last Tuesday, where our bassist / conductor is normally completely behind the orchestra. Normally we find that very comfortable, now that was very unpractical because it turned out that conducting large passages in the Suite is necessary. Next rehearsal he will have to sit in an uncomfortable place with his big bass, so that every band member can see him at all times. The vocal group will go backwards in the setup.

We think that we are at 60% in terms of controlling the suite. That is not enough of course, but we do make crucial steps. It was also the first time that we played the suite in this composition as a whole, and from that background 60% is of course a great result.

We recorded everything yesterday, and we are going to listen to that all together. That is a great way to work quickly and in peace on gaps and implementation issues. Next rehearsal we will take big steps, so that the percentage will hopefully exceed 75%. After that the general, by then the professionals will be able to dream the suite.
