Today I started writing the suite. I have to write this one-hour suite in a month and a half. And I have every confidence that I will succeed. This is so much fun to do. It is like a puzzle that needs to be solved. And just like with a puzzle, the beginning is difficult. Of course, in recent weeks I have been thinking a lot about the atmosphere and the story of this suite. I always try to write associative, which is what I did last time in the Life of A Day suite. So I have a general course of the story in mind, then zoom in on a certain facet in the timeline of that story, and then write down what comes to me with the association to that moment in time. I always try to combine 2 things. A place in Hållsta and a phase in my Burn Out. Of course, those 2 thoughts are metaphors of each other. The first result is, with a melody that is elusive, placed on an obstinato piano pattern. I will return this melody several times later in the suite. Always in a different context.
